Thematic Networking methodology

by admin last modified 2005-08-15 13:49
Through Thematic Networking, IICD assists its local partners in improving the quality of their initiatives, and to draw on partners’ and our own experiences to inform the wider development community on why and how to invest in Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) for development. Two values form the core of Thematic Networking: sharing and learning. Sharing By sharing local partners’ experiences and drawing from in-depth, qualitative analyses at the sector and thematic level, Thematic Networking advocates increasing the awareness of policy makers and development organisations of the development impact of ICTs. Further, it provides input on how to incorporate ICTs in sector policies of development donor organisations. Learning By facilitating cross-country exchange, Thematic Networking assists project partners in learning lessons and finding solutions to tangible problems. Thematic networking facilitates activities involving South-South, South-North and North-South exchange on the practical issues that local partners encounter in applying ICT for development. Experiences and solutions discussed will be published and disseminated to the wider public. On overview of all thematic publications can be found on our publications page (link to publication page, section ‘Thematic Networking publications’).
