This project is a spin-of of the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry (MTTI) policy process in which the need for customised, cost-effective training for staff members of the sector was expressed

The project  started in the third quarter of 2006 and was officially launched by the senior Minister of Industry of MTTI at September 1 , 2006.

The target is to offer customized training to 600 staff members annually (250 from Kampala, 350 from upcountry; hostel facilities are available).


Contributing to development of affilated organizations of the sectors driving the Ugandan economy.

To offer customized ICT training and services to staff members of MTTI-affiliated organisations


  • To identify ICT skills and knowledge gaps within the sector
  • To design high-quality ICT customised training programs
  • To set up a physical facility and an enabling environment for ICT training
  •  To conduct different computer courses (ICTs) and capacity development workshops
  • To provide subsidised training to a minimum of 600 staff members of MTTI affiliated organizations for a period of 1 year (Only in the pilot year to acquire a stable customer base from within the sector)
  • To provide Internet access for reduced rates to 600 staff members per year of MTTI, affiliated organizations after the pilot year (Only in the pilot year to acquire a stable customer base from within the sector)
  • To provide ICT training for competitive rates for general public in evening hours (financial sustainability)

  • Leveraging ICT for economic and social development
  • Promoting Uganda as an ICT destination
