The project also enables the development of best practices and a platform for awareness raising, knowledge exchange and policy making in telemedicine. The owner of the project, the Evangelical Lutheran Church Tanzania (ELCT), provides about 15% of the national health services in Tanzania. This telemedicine project involves approximately 200 doctors and 10,000 patients. E-learning is a type of education where computer technology is the medium of instruction. Computerized education in health is new in Tanzania.
