Organisation Creates YouTube Channel to Preserve Knowledge on Indigenous Bolivian Culture

Oct 06 2010, Bolivia [BO], Education

The IICD supported Bolivian organisation APCOB created a channel on YouTube that is fully dedicated to spreading information on different indigenous people in Bolivia.

The channel is based on a series of DVD’s that APCOB made and is meant to inform secondary school and university students, teachers and a broader audience about Bolivia’s indigenous cultures.

The videos are a result of a project that started in 2001 to preserve and document books, photographs and video materials on indigenous people collected by APCOB since the 1950s. By placing their videos on YouTube, ABCOB hopes to reach a wider audience.

The APCOB channel can be viewed at:  http://www.youtube.com/apcob#p/u
