ItrainOnline

ItrainOnline is a joint initiative of seven organisations with exceptional expertise in computer and Internet training in the South.

While there is an abundance of information on using ICT on the web, experience has shown that is difficult to locate high quality and appropriate information that is suited to the ways development organisations and civil society groups in the South learn about and use ICT. ItrainOnline responds to the need for a single source on the web containing a selection of the best and most relevant computer and Internet training resources for development and social change.

The ItrainOnline initiative aims to assist civil society organisations (CSOs) and other development actors in developing countries to confront the challenges posed by new information and communications technologies (ICT). In seeking to overcome skills gaps in development, it connects people and know-how with the needs of ICT learners and trainers. ItrainOnline aims to:

  • provide a selection of the best and most relevant computer and Internet training resources for development and social change
  • provide access to high quality and appropriate information that is suited to the ways development organisations and civil society groups in the South learn about and use ICT
  • concentrate on training and "how-to" guides for development organisations and civil society groups

The entire iTrainOnline website can be accessed via www.itrainonline.org where you can find links to content on basic skills, strategic use, web design, multi media and more.
