ICT can be a solution to practical problems, making it possible to provide medical advice from a distance to people in remote areas, for example. ICT can also be a motor for economic development. What technological innovations are necessary for ICT to play such a role? Does the EU Lisbon agenda for innovation take this into account?

These and other aspect of the role of ICT in the further development of the South will be investigated on 9th April during the 2nd Innovation for Development Day (I4D) at the Eindhoven University of Technology.

Organisation
The I4D-day and the I4D network are initiatives by Stichting Oikos (coordinator), Ingenieurs zonder Grenzen (KIVI NIRIA), Eindhoven University of Technology’s committee on Technology for Development, Studium Generale Wageningen, Studium Generale Delft and Studium Generale Eindhoven and the Royal Tropical Institute KIT. The I4D-day is supported by NCDO.

IICD’s Managing Director Caroline Figuères will do the introductory lecture and will participate in the debate.
