Zambian Students in IICD-supported School Make DVD about ICT
Nov 13 2009, Zambia [ZM], Education
A group of students from the Mpelembe Secondary School in Zambia made a DVD about how ICT is used by students and teachers throughout their school.
On the DVD several different ways of using ICT on the school are shown. For example, using a digital whiteboard for classes and using the internet for research and social interaction. Both students and teachers speak about the advantages of technologies in their daily life.
The DVD is used by teachers of the Mpelembe Secondary School as a way to promote their school during presentations and meetings.
The Mpelembe school is part of the IICD-supported ENEDCO project. The ENEDCO project aims to improve content in seven schools in Zambia’s Copperbelt region so that teaching becomes more effective. The project’s principle focus lies in the visual representation of the content of existing teaching materials. More than 8000 students and over 300 teachers benefit from the ENEDCO project.
