WWW founder visits IICD partner RICNET in Uganda

Founder of the world wide web Sir Tim Berners-Lee met with IICD local partner RICNET to discuss using ICT for development in Uganda.

Berners-Lee was one member of a delegation from the World Wide Web Foundation, a new international grassroots non-profit that seeks to advance the Web and empower people.

RICNET is a member of the Rwenzori Consortium for Civic Competence, which is running a programme to help give civil society organisations more influence over government planning and development. RICNET is a network of information centres (Tel-centres) in the Rwenzori region of Western Uganda.
