Inter Access Helps Ghanaian NGO Improve Data Management

Dutch IT company Inter Access has helped IICD partner ACDEP in Ghana centralise its digital information, so all their PCs can access the same content. More professional data management helps ACDEP work more efficiently, and protects the information against loss.
ACDEP is a multimedia organisation that delivers farming, health and educational information to rural areas. They rely on computers for this information, but until now it was stored separately on individual PCs. Because the information was scattered, it was vulnerable to computer viruses. In the new set up, a central server joins all work stations to the same information.
“Now, ACDEP staff can access their personal and shared data from any PC. And because data is stored in one place, the back up and virus scan are more reliable. It only has to happen once, instead of on every PC” says Tommy Hueber, technical consultant for Inter Access.

Hueber was in Tamale for two weeks to assist with various computer malfunctions.
IICD has been an ACDEP partner since 2008. On ACDEP's request and as part of a multi-annual agreement with Inter Access, IICD was pleased to be able to help send an Inter Access consultant to Tamale.
