Supporting the agriculture sector in Bolivia with information and communication technologies.

Landlocked Bolivia is the highest, one of the most culturally diverse countries in Latin America and very rich in natural resources such as gas, zinc, gold and tin. Yet despite ample cultural and natural assets Bolivia is one of the poorest countries in the region. The economic and political crisis has paralysed the main productive sectors in the country, such as industry, agriculture and commerce. At the same time the country has great agricultural potential. The International Institute for Communication and Development (IICD) is working in Bolivia to support developments in the agriculture sector by use of information and communication technology (ICT) tools.
