Synthesis of an e-discussion.

The national e-discussion on the topic ‘Ghana and the march towards an information and knowledge economy: prospects and challenges’ took place from the 4th of September till the 6th of October on ginks@dgroups.org.

This e-discussion attracted quality debates and suggestions from various groups’ experts and individuals with a passion for accelerated development in Ghana using ICTs. The discussion highlighted challenges and prospects that Ghana faced in being part of the knowledge economy. it focused on the areas of progress made in the Ghana ICT4AD policy; Developing the Human Resource needed to bring Ghana in the knowledge economy; and whether Ghana can become a DPO (Business Process Outsourcing) hub for Africa.

GINKS, the IICD supported Ghana Information Network for Knowledge Sharing, published in partnership with Techgov the synthesis of Kofi Mangesi, Director of Techgov and Prince Deh, Assistant Coordinator of GINKS. The synthesis captures the trust of the discussion and the recommendations that emanated from the debate.
