Learning reports of the Tanzania and Ecuador country programmes reflect on the evaluation analysis, which was discussed with partner organisations in feed-back sessions.

The system for Monitoring and Evaluation is meant for learning from the experiences from other projects and the results of the data gathered through the online M&E tool. The ideas generated during the Focus Group meetings will help the projects improve themselves.

Based on the evaluation results and discussions, two new Learning Reports have been published.

Tanzania
Participants of the Focus Group meeting in Tanzania in November 2005.One report reflects on the Tanzania country programme. In 2005 a total of 323 questionnaires were completed in the sectors of livelihoods and education. The results were discussed amongst the project partners during a Focus Group meeting in November 2005. What are the levels of satisfaction of end-users and impact of the projects in these sectors? To improve these levels, issues were discussed, such as: What are the challenges with capacity development? Are the projects reaching their target group?

Ecuador
The second report on the Ecuador country programme reflects on the Focus Group meeting held in January 2006, where all IICD’s project, training and network partners came together to discuss the analyses of some 233 questionnaires that focussed on the role of IICD during formulation and implementation of the projects, as well as the capacity development that has been going on.

“While some things are best learned in practice, you always have to take into consideration the level of the participants and what kind of guide you need to get the best effect

More Learning reports
IICD’s evaluation partners produce one or two country evaluation reports per year, depending on the amount of Focus Group meetings held. Since the M&E system is based on trust, honestly and openness, the complete report is not made public. However, the main findings can be read in Learning Reports abstracted from each report. These reports are listed on the Evaluation results page.
