Report of the Livelihoods Cross-Country Learning Event.

On April 15, 2005, IICD organized a Cross-Country Learning Event (CCLE) on the topic of "Achieving sustainability? Assessing the impact of ICTs in Livelihoods". The CCLE brought together twelf IICD partners from eight countries to share experiences and discuss lessons on the impact and sustainability of their projects.

The event also provided an opportunity to obtain feedback from IICD partners on the findings of an impact study on IICD livelihoods projects, to be published in July 2005. Participants' feedback from the session will be included within the published booklet.

See below to download the full report of the workshop.

Some quotes on the workshop:

I have learnt a lot, in fact I feel much more equipped to tackle my work at the Business Information Centre. I also have much to share with my colleagues on the project, and at the upcoming Stakeholders workshop we have billed for the end of April. While we had planned on sharing information and knowledge with our small scale producer groups, I all the time had the idea of taking the sharing further by doing a hands-on training in computer literacy skills for the various groups we work with. In talking to Martin from Bolivia (CEPROBOL project), I realized that it was exactly what they had been doing on their project with much success and this gave me much encouragement that I was on the right track. (message on Dgroup)

Thank you so much for encouraging me to do the peer assist! I am meeting youths on Saturday to discuss with them on how to improve the group activities. As for the usefulness in my communities, especially the women and youths involved in the project, I am now well equipped with new tools and approaches learned from Arun, Lucie and Hon. Johnson
