According to Tanzania government official David Sawe: "the growing online community of the Tanzania E-ThinkTank members bears witness to the unique value of information networking among people within the field of ICT for Development."
E-ThinkTank
This particular network has brought together over 120 people from the public, private and non profit sectors. Among them is a rich variety of ranks, professional occupations and academic backgrounds. Hence the E-ThinkTank also presents a precious reservoir of skills and experience, which can be applied to analysing partinent issues, and perhaps proposing solutions as and when appropriate
Among the activities and services that have been facilitated by the E-ThinkTank since it began in February we can already count on the following:
Mentoring of SME's
Enterpreneurship facilitation
Skills Development
Resource mobilization
Issue resolution
Championing policy development and research
On this note, IICD and the E-ThinkTank are forging a partnership which will be beneficial to IICD's Tanzanian partners, some of whom are also E-ThinkTank members. Additionally, IICD's information network leaders in other countries have expressed interest in drawing on the eThink Tank experience for the benefit of their own networks
